Still, deadlines do have their advantages.
Still, deadlines do have their advantages. While I'm burning the midnight oil slaving over a hot keyboard in an even hotter office, Sutty - judging by the phone call I've just received - is braving a hurricane in Ballykelly as he tries to build a minibike track armed only with a spoon (well I think he said spoon - it was hard to hear over the gale). And the situation's only a little better at home where my wife's dealing with the fall-out from a projectile vomiting 11-month-old nipper - she even managed to be sick in the fridge (don't ask)! On the subject of babies, big congratulations go to Stefan Everts and his girlfriend Kelly on the birth of their son Liam. And to James Noble and his wife Natalie on the birth of their son Elliot James. And to Graham Jarvis and wife Sonia on the imminent arrival of twins. Little do they all know the wonderful chaos that's heading their way... Congratulations are also due to Josh Coppins and Stephen Sword for picking up the two big domestic MX crowns this year - and wrapping it all up one round early. Good work Lizzards and Gentlemen. And, in an unheard of burst of yet more good will towards men, a big slap on the back to Takahisa Fujinami for finally winning the WTC. He was shaping up to be the Kurt Nicoll of the trials world but Fujigas has finally kicked the runner-up habit and gone one better in '04. Still, just to rain on his parade a little, Dougie Lampkin may have lost the crown after wearing it for seven years but he did notch up a double win at the series finale in Switzerland. What are the odds of the Yorkshireman firing straight back next year for title #8? Okay, enough already! All that remains for another month is to wish our national teams the very best of luck in the MX and Trial des Nations in Holland and Spain. Go get 'em... PS Sutty breaking things update... To the growing list add Tiff's minibike, the dbr van exhaust and - after wiring said exhaust back up a little too tightly - the dbr awning that was stored in the back. Heat travels and a van floor is a great conductor!-
